Several months ago we put into service our first public document: the Bulletin for the formation of a group of teachers in AGD-CBC. In this Bulletin, re-circulating recently that we present as a group and explained what were the reasons that bring us together to promote a work space and discussion to contribute to a more democratic and participatory AGD-CBC.
We said then, and re-argue that the low participation of all teaching colleagues in the Guild is an obstacle not only for its growth and consolidation, but also in terms of representativeness of the decisions it takes.
response to this concern, and in order to deepen our real contribution and militant in our Guild, we decided to introduce elections for the renewal of the Board of Directors (CD) of AGD-CBC.
We firmly believe that the existence of other voices and the presence of different perspectives, as well as one that responds to the current composition of the CD, will be a real contribution within our Guild.
We believe the work we have done in the meetings and assemblies of AGD-CBC can charge even more strongly if we have a representation in the CD and install express our positions on the Guild's agenda issues on which we stand in previous documents and work regularly in our meetings, namely:
- Finding, discussion and systematization of various regulations and resolutions governing the operation of the CBC, however unknown to most teachers and difficult to access, but of crucial importance when addressing our rights;
- the problem of the lack of institutionalization of the CBC, which affects all the other problems of the institution and is the nodal point of its operation authoritarian. As noted on other occasions, an expression of this issue is Resolution 2938 of the Superior Council itself in 1992 (never implemented), which noted the problematic nature of the institution and called for changes provide pointed to the creation of a government made up of teachers, teaching assistants and students. Is symbolic at this point that the Statute of the CBC UBA is not mentioned;
- conducting a survey to know the reality of the CBC, as well as the proposal to require the list of officers of the faculty, which would be transparent the way it is done by low and high charges and the amount of working hours by appointment, which is known, is very heterogeneous;
- also ways to make more representative and effective our wage claims and a host of other problems we face in order teaching and academic work and beyond the minimum wage.
We also believe that the way we decided to address the union and academic issues relating to the CBC may also be a valuable contribution within the AGD CD-CBC. We are convinced that only we can transform our working conditions, broadly, if as workers CBC teachers can have access to certain information that are essential for decision-making guilds. For this reason, we are trying to create new channels of participation, and to disseminate as widely as we can the information on competitions, appointments, regulations and other documents that govern our activities and regulate aspects of our rights.
strengthen and democratize the Guild is our goal that AGD would constitute a truly open space so that teachers can intervene in political issues and academic union's own CBC. Therefore, we call on all partners and fellow teachers who share these concerns to join this proposal, both in the daily work around unions and academic issues, such as participation in these elections.
To this end, we invite you to (re) read, discuss and, in so far as to share the broad outlines of our space, to spread our documents, the which can be accessed on our blog:
